port review: Princess cay
When I am in the Caribbean, I love a good chill day on the water. Princess Cay is the perfect place to make this dream a reality. I had a wonderful day here the first week of February 2025.
Princess Cay is a tender port. You will need to get a ticket to get off the ship. They will call you by number and you then take a smaller boat to shore.
They will tell you where to get the tickets in the newsletter the day before. I urge you to get there early and get a ticket to get to the island early.
This was my first time at Princess Cay a private island owned by Carnival Cruise Lines. This means only ships owned by Carnival such as Princess, Holland America, and Carnival use this island.
Why do I love Private Islands? It’s a free day. They provide beach chairs and food. I of course packed my trusty float. Even though beach chairs and food is free they do not let you use your drink package on the island. For lunch, they served burgers, hotdogs, ribs, chicken and assorted sides. It is like a buffet with them serving you. They also had complimentary tea, lemonade, and water.
Me living my best life on my float
Seriously pack a float. This day was dreamy!
I enjoyed our day at Princess Cay. I am actively looking for a cruise with Princess Cay and Celebration Key (the new Carnival private island opening later this year).
I liked that it was smaller than Half Moon Cay. I love Half Moon Cay, but I also love to travel with my parents in their mid-70s. I think they would enjoy this island more. Also, I will mention that some of the areas are rocky and I highly recommend you pack water shoes.
These are the ones I carry on my cruises and I love them:
