Valiant Lady - Day 2

Our 2nd day was a sea day. I love sea days, especially on Virgin Voyages. I started my day off at the Restore Spa. I had $600 of onboard credit and a $100 bar tab on this cruise that I needed to use.

This was my first time using the spa on Virgin and it did not disappoint. I did a tour on the first day. I found out which package not only got me a massage but also got me a 3-hour spa pass for another date. I wisely chose the Quartz bed massage. I had no idea what this was when I booked it but it got me a massage and a day spa pass so I was happy. I spent $300 of my onboard credit in the spa it was FAB! There is a massage bed that has quartz on it. Then they lay a sheet on top of the warm quartz where you lay to get the massage. When you lay on your back the table also massages your back. It was different but I loved my 75 minutes in there. I left feeling amazing. I know $300 sounds a lot for a massage but I did get 3 hours in the spa facilities included in the price. The price included gratuity so $300 was my total cost.

My son and I only brought carry-on luggage and I knew there was no way we could put anything else in our bags. I also knew there was no way we could spend the remaining $300 of onboard credit and $100 bar tab in 5 days. I went to the casino. I went to the casino cage and moved $200 of my onboard credit to my casino credit. This was super easy. They charge a percent fee if you use your credit card so I wanted to be sure it came directly from my onboard credit. I started out on blackjack and I quickly remembered after $40 was gone. I do not like their blackjack video machines. I switched to video poker playing $1.25 a hand until my initial investment was gone. I walked over to the cage. I cashed out my $168.50 winnings and didn’t return to the casino. I really like playing on other ships I just have not had any luck on Virgin. Luckily there is always plenty to do elsewhere.

That night I was invited to an event for Deep Blue Extras. I had seen this brother and sister group in May. I enjoyed them in May and was thrilled to see them again on this cruise. The event lasts about an hour. Even though I could bring a plus one. My son had no interest in attending with me. Here is the letter in my cabin detailing all the benefits of Deep Blue Extras.

That evening I had made reservations at Gumbae. Our interactive meal of the cruise. It’s a Korean BBQ restaurant where you sit with other couples. You play a small drinking game and you eat amazing food. My son loved this! He did skip the drinking aspect of the game. I offered to do Finn’s shot but the waiter said that was not necessary.
