Capital One Venture Card

I wasn’t planning on getting another card so soon. However, we completed the signup bonus on my husband’s Capital One Venture X card and already used the points for my Alaska Cruise 2025. When looking at upcoming expenses I noticed we still have not paid for our Epic Ski Passes. We also have some upcoming dental expenses. Instead of using my Medical Flex Plan card for our medical expenses, I charge them to my credit card and then file for reimbursement. I want the points. With all these upcoming expenses it is the perfect time to get a new card and get some points through a signup bonus!

I also thought about the trips I am currently working on I could use points to help make them free. I need somewhere to stay for our Spring Break ski trip. I also need flights for my Alaska and Greek Isles cruises. I should have enough American Express Reward points to get my Europe flights but I thought these new points could be used as a travel credit for hotel rooms for our ski trip or possibly transfer for a partner for airfare to Seattle for my Alaska cruise. Or I could come up with a completely different plan. Regardless these points are super flexible and they will be used.

Until last week, I had not even thought about adding the Capital One Venture Card to my wallet. However, I saw there was a 75,000-point bonus when spending $4000. Plus a $250 travel credit when using the Capital One Travel portal. This card has an annual fee of $95 a year. I am willing to spend that to get over $1000 back. If you are interested in checking out this card - I do have a referral link here This card works pretty much like the Capital One Venture X card with a much lower fee. The major difference it does not come with unlimited lounge access at Capital One airport lounges.

Here are all the benefits of the card

Sign-up bonus - 75,000 points

$250 travel credit to use on Capital One Travel

Unlimited 2x miles

If you book your travel back on Capital One Travel earn 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars.

$95 annual fee

No foreign transaction fees and no blackout dates

Free TSA precheck

If you are new to the Credit Card points game, this would be easy card to help you get started. You can book travel on this card and use your rewards points to get $ off your purchase. You could also use your points to transfer to one of their 16 travel partners.
