how we saved big on our next virgin voyage
I love using points and miles to help our family travel the world for free and cheap. My favorite cruise line is Virgin Voyages. I have been on 4 Virgin Cruises and have my 5th booked later this year. When I was on the Resilent lady last November, I purchased a My Next Virgin Voyage (MNVV) certificate. We selected a 6-day cruise to the Caribbean. Since it was a 6-day cruise, we got the following off our cruise:
Save $200 on your voyage fare
Enjoy $200 onboard credit
Total value: $400
Our $3000 cruise dropped to $2800 with the MNVV. Thanks to a status match in December of 2023, I also have deep blue extras on this cruise. As you can see from the chart below. This adds significant savings to our cruise. Also, thanks to a promotion, we got another $100 in sailor loot.
As you can see below these savings add up!
My free add-ons
I don’t think we will add any additional bar tab on this trip. Based on our last cruise this should be close to meet our needs. You can read more about the bar tab here.
To cruise from Miami, we need to fly from Nashville. Southwest does this directly. My husband has the Southwest Companion Pass. We paid for one round-trip ticket with Southwest Rapid Rewards. We then use the companion pass for free. We pay taxes at $11.20. So, instead of paying $400 for a ticket, we are paying $22.40 for both tickets.
We are flying to Miami the day before so we need a place to stay. I booked the Hyatt Centric South Beach on Hyatt Points. We stayed there earlier this year for our anniversary, it was fabulous. Thanks to Hyatt Points, we booked this room free instead of the $700 a night it would run this time of year.
Using points and miles helped us save thousands on this trip.
