transferring points to a travel partner (chase edition)

I remember the first time I transferred points from Chase to a travel partner. I was very nervous I was doing it wrong.

Last night we realized we needed to stay the night in Atlanta on our way home from Prague. We decided to fly home the next day so we needed a room at the airport after a long day of flying.

I founds rooms at the Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport for 5000 points each. I currently only have 900 Hyatt points so I need to transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt to make this reservation.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to transfer points from Chase to Hyatt:

First I log into my account on the app (you can also do this from a desktop but my instructions this time are for the app)

From this menu select Transfer to Travel Partners

All the transfer points will pull up on the next screen. You select which partner you want to transfer your points to. For this example I am choosing Hyatt.

You select transfer points. We have two people on our account so it then asked which account to use and verified the account number.

Enter how many points you want to transfer and then hit next. It will send a verification code to your phone or email and then you complete your transaction. It is super easy and once you get used to do this it changes the way you see points and miles.
