Business Cards - Inks

Starting this new business, No Point Left Behind, has some expenses. I thought this would be the perfect time to take advantage of a sign-up bonus for a credit card. I immediately knew I would want a Chase Ink card. I love the Ultimate Rewards points I get from Chase Sapphire. I also knew this business even though small would qualify me for a business card. The Chase Inks are specifically for business.

So how did a small business that hasn’t made a dime get a business card? I applied as a sole proprietorship and used my Social Security number. I filled out the application listing a tiny estimate of expected income for the year. It asked me what business I was in and I tried to find one that matched. I hit submit and up popped a window saying they needed to review my application and would get back to me in 5 to 7 days. I thought that was understandable. This was over the weekend. On Monday I got a warning my credit had been pulled. I took this as a positive sign. I made it far enough they wanted to verify my credit. A few hours later, I got an email saying my application had been accepted and my new card would arrive in 5 - 7 business days. It was so easy!

Before I applied I had to decide which Chase Card I wanted. I knew I wanted one that gave ultimate rewards. Also, this is a small one-woman show. I have very few expenses so I needed a low amount of spending to get the bonus. I also saw the credit card company doesn’t care if I put personal spending on the card. So I am going to do that as well. If that becomes an issue I will report back. I like to be transparent and let you know everything I know.
