Wynhdam Era is over

A few months ago, I wrote about how I loved the obscure credit card Wyndham business earner. I ended up getting 5 free cruises from it using a status match. You can read more about that here. We are using our status match for our upcoming trip to Vegas to waive resort fees and parking at our hotel.

Last week, I saw news about this card and things were changing. It looks like this way to earn free cruises is over. Effective February 1, 2025, you will no longer be able to match Caesar’s diamond status from the Wyndham Business Earner Card. They are reducing the points you can transfer from Wyndham to Caesars from 60,000 to 30,000. We used 52,000 points we moved to pay for our upcoming hotel rooms in Vegas so these are significant changes for us.

I still have one free cruise I can go for, but I would need to do it quickly. I am trying to decide if it is worth my effort to fly to Philadelphia take the train to Atlantic City and do some status matches to get a free Oceanview MSC cruise from Ocean Prime. I already have several cruises booked for 2025 so I am trying to let this go. However, I know me and I feel like a trip to Atlantic City (free on points) will be in my near future. I will admit, that I am checking the Southwest website frequently to see if I can find free point flights to Philadelphia before this deal is gone for me.

I’ve done the points game long enough to know that good deals come and go. I’ve enjoyed the ride on this one and look forward to other travel hacks.
